𝗔𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗜 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗷𝗮𝗵

ATypI is the Association Typographique International, the nonprofit global forum for type and typography. It was established in 1957 to unite European type manufacturers at a time of technological change and to promote typography education and awareness in general. Its annual conference has taken place every year since its foundation, but this is its first time in the Middle East.

The programme has four packed days of keynote lectures, talks, workshops, exhibitions, and “cultural experiences” celebrating typography across languages, cultures, and disciplines. The theme is Between — Tradition | Transition | Transformation, “exploring how typography moves across scripts, disciplines, tools, cultures, and time”. In fact the sessions look rather less staid and academic than this implies.

The member price is $650 for the four days, and there’s a $300 rate for students.
