The original wartime weepie, now beautifully restored to give maximum scope to the multi Oscar winner. Humphrey Bogart stars as Rick Blaine, the cynical American owner of a nightclub in Vichy-controlled Casablanca on the eve of war; his one-time love Ilsa Lund (Ingrid Bergman), walks into his club and back into his life. Ilsa’s husband is Resistance leader Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid) who needs Rick’s help to get out to safety. Ilsa offers herself in exchange for Laszlo’s ticket out of the country … Essential viewing. Bring hankies.
