UAENO: Harmony

A concert that suggests one of the reasons for the UAE National Orchestra’s formation – the conversation between Arabic and Western musical traditions, delivered through classic Arabic and Western orchestral formations. It features the world premiere of Richard Dubugnon’s Double Concerto for Ney and Cello, with soloists Rami Ourabi (ney) and Sary Khalifé (cello); we’re also promised oud master Naseer Shamma in a programme (otherwise unspecified) of “encounter, exchange and discovery”.
