Al Manakh Spaces Talks – Pressure Cooker: Greenhouses and the Architecture of Farming

First in a series of talks, conversations, and tours by the Sharjah Architecture Triennial (SAT) linked to the Al Manakh bio-farm and its community-based programming. The aim is to position the bio-farm within the wider context of architecture, agriculture, and food systems; this inaugural talk features Azza Aboualam, curator of the 2025 National Pavilion UAE at the Venice Architecture Biennale, Assistant Professor at Zayed University, and Co-Founder of Holesum Studio. Her work at the intersection of architecture and food production in the UAE, asks question like “how can architecture be mobilised for greater food security?”

The talk with be followed by a tour of the bio-farm and a Q&A session.
