Le Trio Joubran

Music under the stars on Sharjah’s Al Noor Island with a noted oud trio playing traditional Palestinian music with Western stylings. Brothers Samir, Wissam, and Adnan Joubran, originally from Nazareth and now dividing their time between Nazareth, Ramallah and Paris, will happily admit to gathering musical influences anywhere they can find them; but the results through several CDs and many spectacular performances are never less than potently nationalistic in their intent. “The Trio Joubran talents as musicians are complemented by their compassion as human beings,” wrote Brian Eno. “Their longstanding and determined commitment has made them a symbol of Palestinian identity and resistance.
