Creative Career Days

The Jameel’s introduction to careers in the creative sector, aimed primarily at school and college students, is back. Under the (somewhat unwieldy) title Form = Function = Form = Function = Form, the 2024 edition focus on design careers “and the ways in which the arts intersect with design, architecture, fashion, graphics, interiors and beyond”.

“Attendees discover the disciplines of design thinking, from collaborative and problem-solving approaches to the myriad opportunities that lie between the intersection of form and function” via stands run by potential employers and educators (over 30 UAE organisations and universities) plus hands-on workshops (craft-making, but also CV-writing), panel discussions, and a series of ‘Meet the Creative’ talks. And the valuable ‘career surgery stations’ are back, offering one-to-one consultations with career experts suggesting tailored career mapping plans.

There will also be onsite food stalls, music and entertainment “for all ages”.

This is the drop-in open-to-all day; it’s preceded on 10 and 11 October by two prebook-only days, dedicated to group visits by school and universities and anyone with a student ID. Early registration is recommended via this link.
