Le Dîner de Cons

A second performance for Culture Emulsion’s version of Francis Veber’s highly successful modern French farce. Pierre Brochant is one of the Parisian businessmen who have a weekly ‘idiots’ dinner’, where guests bring along a dimwit who can be ridiculed. Brochant finds an excellent candidate in François Pignon, but well before the dinner things start to go wrong when the businessman finds himself getting more and more involved with the gaffe-prone walking disaster Pignon as Brochant tries to make it up with his estranged wife … There are phantom mistresses, unlikely offstage car accidents, a tax inspector, and misunderstandings and mistakes by the tonne. Shows as part of Culture Emulsion’s annual Tous en Scène festival of Francophone theatre.
