Torn

A second day of performances (4pm, 7.30pm, 9.30pm) for this world premiere of a new play written and directed by the award-winning Australian writer/director Alex Broun, well known to Dubai audiences for the past 15 or so years (not least from his promotion of and participation in the Short + Sweet playlet festivals). Torn is described as “a sexy, fast-paced, brutal, funny and at times moving dissection of post-millennium relationships … with echoes of Patrick Marber’s Closer“; lawyer Susan (Nadine Basiony) is in a relationship with advertising executive Cade (Osman Aboubakr), and voiceover artist Gerry (Elie Choufani) is in love with Susan’s PA Daniella (Lis Panilla). “Torn is about the impossibility and possibility of love in a modern world where choices abound and nothing is forever …” Should be a good show.

The final performances are on 21 April (7.30pm and 9.30pm).
