Amer Zahr: The Truth

“Sometimes we laugh so hard we cry. And sometimes we cry so hard we laugh …” Amer Zahr’s show is described as “a comedic journey through being Palestinian and Arab in today’s times”. The Palestinian-American comedian (and author, political activist and  adjunct professor at University of Detroit Mercy School of Law) brings more than 10 years of comedy experience to Dubai. He’s performed often with other Palestinian-American comedians like Said Durrah, Mona Aburmishan, and Mike Easmeil (and sometimes produced the shows); he runs a comedy festival in his native Dearborn, Michigan; he has produced and headlined in three of his own comedy tours; and in 2016 and 2020 he served as a surrogate for presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. He’s well worth the price of admission to this Dubai Comedy Festival gig.
