Foragers: dir Jumana Manna (2022)

Shot in the Golan Heights, the Galilee and Jerusalem, the film employs fiction, documentary and archival footage to capture the joy and knowledge embodied in the traditions of foraging for wild edible plants alongside the foragers’ resilience in the face of of Israeli nature protection laws which have no respect for these customs.
This screens in 421’s four-day Palestinian Cinema Days, a programme presented in collaboration with Reel Palestine and Cinema Akil that champions independent and alternative cinema for the stories, heritage, and identity of the Palestinian people.
Screenings take place in 421’s outdoor plaza from 7pm on; films include subtitles in English and Arabic where applicable.
All proceeds go to Emirates Red Crescent’s Tarahum – for Gaza campaign. Admission is free with preregistration via the website and a receipt for a donation via Emirates Red Crescent’s payment link (the recommended donation is AED 50).
