Xposure announces winners of Timothy Allen Award

Five winners has been selected from a record 1,600 entries for the Timothy Allen Photography Scholarship Award (TAPSA) at Sharjah’s Xposure International Photography Festival next year.

The award, for travel and documentary photography, aims to highlight the work of lesser known photographers “or those who we feel deserve a larger platform for their work”; entries were free and open to photographers of any nationality or age.

Hong Kong Pro-Democracy Protests – The Revolution of our Time: Kiran Ridley, Great Britain
In Epicentre of COVID-19: F Dilek Uyar, Turkey
Living Among the Garbage: Ata Ranjbarzeydanlou, Iran
Spin Control: Natalia Gorshkova, Russia

The winning images will be shown at Xposure’s fifth edition, taking place in Sharjah’s Expo Centre from 10-13 February next year. 

The five winners each get a 10-day travel package to Sharjah to include the festival; they also get one-to-one coaching, portfolio reviews, and workshops led by Timothy Allen, as well as the opportunity to present their work to a live audience at Xposure 2021.
