She sits him down and searches through her library\, preparing the ideal acting class for him – from Plautus to Pirandello via Dario Fo. This time it’s a coming-of-age tale of a young boy in the late 19th century; a chance encounter with the famous clown Pierrot “sets off a chain of events that leads the boy through the city\, from the freak show to the opera and all the way to the future … He meets a host of colourful and mysterious characters that prompt him to question what it really means to be remarkable\, and what it costs”.
