Through documentation\, case studies\, and spatial narratives\, it reflects on how these overlooked structures mediate between privacy\, family\, and urban form. \nThe exhibition reflects ongoing research by Amer Madhoun\, co-founder of Collectus Design & Architecture Studio\, conducted as part of Bayt AlMamzar’s first design and architecture residency. Developed over nearly three years\, the Mulhaq research residency has been conceived as a long-term process with outcomes that includes publications and the future renovation of BAM’s mulhaq (annex) as well as the exhibition itself. \nThis project is supported through the Modern Heritage Grant Program\, an initiative by the UAE Ministry of Culture\, in collaboration with Zayed University and Majra – National CSR Fund. \nTo 8 May.

Says the gallery: “These are not nostalgic visions of innocence but reimaginings of ‘girl’: an ancient inheritance of edicts around beauty\, shame\, and desire\, rewritten here with magic\, rage\, and much speculation”. \nThis Hunna Art exhibition is curated by Océane Sailly.
