Al Hashemi\u2019s practice examines what it means to remain human within increasingly automated systems of production and consumption \u2013 especiallyy seen through urban life in the Emirates. Al Hashemi works across ceramics, printmaking and painting, \u201cinvestigating the systems through which contemporary experience is organized: the routes that structure daily movement, the artificial illuminations that shape public space, and the habitual routines through which urban environments are encountered and internalised \u2026 Central to this inquiry is the sun, which recurs throughout the exhibition as both a defining condition of life in the UAE and a means of thinking through the relationship between body, landscape, and the built environment\u201d.<\/p>\n
