Writer and poet Balqees Alhawamdeh invites participants to explore poetry in an approachable and creative way by crafting a short poem as a visual composition using colour, collage, and form. It starts with a line from a poem or a personal memory as a prompt; participants will then move into a guided writing exercise and free-writing session, subsequently translating the poem into postcard form that transform words into a visual object. Open to ages 18+, no prior experience required, and materials will be provided.
