{"id":64612,"date":"2025-10-28T16:07:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T12:07:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/magpie.ae\/staging4\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=64612"},"modified":"2025-10-28T16:08:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T12:08:11","slug":"sites-in-conversation","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/magpie.ae\/staging4\/event\/sites-in-conversation\/","title":{"rendered":"Sites in Conversation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A two-day symposium of readings, discussions, and shared meals as part of that unfolds across Sharjah as part of Sharjah Architecture Triennial&#8217;s DAAS programme. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.decolonizing.ps\/site\/daas-in-sharjah\/\">DAAS<\/a> is Decolonizing Architecture Advanced Studies, a programme with no fixed curriculum but instead an environment where &#8220;knowledge emerges through encounters, conversations, and shared practices&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The DAAS programme moves between different sites: from Sharjah to Sicily, from Palestine to Stockholm, &#8220;and in the everyday contexts participants bring with them &#8230; This mobility reflects the shared condition of displacement, while also rooting work in situated struggles&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>So each session is intended to unfold as a dialogue shaped by lived experiences and research. The programme:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>Day One<\/strong><\/span> <strong>Saturday 1 November<\/strong> 10am to 6pm<br \/>\n<em>Al Qasimiyah School, Sharjah City<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">Led by May Al-Dabbagh, Zoe Butt, Charles Esche, and Shahram Khosravi, these sessions have no fixed topics; instead they invite improvisation, allowing unexpected connections and solidarities to emerge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>Day Two<\/strong><\/span> <strong>Sunday 2 Novembe<\/strong>r 2m to 7pm<br \/>\n<em>Concrete Tent, Al Madam (transportation provided)<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\">The final gathering reflects on conversation as the central methodology of DAAS: &#8220;in this shared space, the art of conversation becomes both a method and a horizon for future encounters \u2013 and for the forthcoming iteration of \u2018DAAS in Cairo\u2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\">A two-day symposium of readings, discussions, and shared meals as part of that unfolds across Sharjah as part of Sharjah Architecture Triennial&#8217;s DAAS programme.
