{"id":64284,"date":"2025-10-12T15:37:15","date_gmt":"2025-10-12T11:37:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/magpie.ae\/staging4\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=64284"},"modified":"2025-10-28T20:54:00","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T16:54:00","slug":"daniel-arsham-what-remains","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/magpie.ae\/staging4\/event\/daniel-arsham-what-remains\/","title":{"rendered":"Daniel Arsham: What Remains"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A solo show by the American artist Daniel Arsham, known for his works of &#8216;fictional archaeology&#8217; expressed through sculpture, architecture, drawing, and film \u2013 what he calls \u201cfuture relics of the present.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Arsham will transform the gallery into a sonic installation with a new sculptural series of copper-wrapped bonsai tree sculptures that double as functional stereo speakers. These works pay homage to Japanese Zen Buddhist culture and Arsham\u2019s own past presentations of sand Zen gardens.<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s also a new suite of works relating to his recent Labyrinth series in cast sand; Arsham\u2019s <em>Stairs in a Labyrinth <\/em>is a sculptural double portrait \u2013 from head-on it appears to be a portrait bust of a sitter, transforming in the profile view into a maze of architectural levels and stairwells.
