Artist <strong>Minouk Lim<\/strong> talks with <strong>Wael Al Awar<\/strong>, Principal architect and founding partner of hop studio waiwai, discuss the hidden infrastructures of the city \u2013 both material and social \u2013 that orchestrate urban life and social relations. How does infrastructure operate as both geopolitical script and social choreography? How do these systems emerge from, and reinforce, particular forms of social organisation?<\/p>\n<p>Conceiving the city as a layered topography of speculative, real, and imagined mediums, ranging from master plans to maintenance routines, the discussion focuses on Gulf urbanism and the cultural logic embedded in its invisible systems.
