And this is possible because the story\u2019s voice makes everything its own\u00a0\u00a0| <em>John Berger<\/em> &#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#fcf100\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#fcf100\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Sharjah modernism<\/mark><\/strong><\/mark><\/strong> Sharjah is joining\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/abudhabiculture.ae\/en\/cultural-heritage\/tangible\/modern-heritage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the UAE<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/abudhabiculture.ae\/en\/cultural-heritage\/tangible\/modern-heritage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Abu Dhabi<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0in setting up\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wam.ae\/en\/article\/c06bwv1-sharjah-executive-council-forms-committee-preserve\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>a mechanism to log and protect its modern architectural heritage<\/strong><\/a>. It\u2019s early days yet, but a committee is being established with leadership by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sharjahart.org\/en\/press\/details\/sharjah-art-foundation-to-lead-new-committee-for-the-preservation-of-modern-architectural-heritage-in-sharjah\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Sharjah Art Foundation<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and goals including preservation, increased awareness and promotion of cultural tourism; importantly, the committee will also work on listing, researching and documenting modern heritage buildings\u00a0&#8230;<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#fcf100\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Round numbers<\/mark><\/strong>\u00a0In a sign that Abu Dhabi is preparing confidently for the post-war return of tourists, the $1.7bn\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaoffice.abudhabi\/en\/tourism\/sphere-abu-dhabi-to-open-on-yas-island-in-landmark-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Sphere Abu Dhabi project<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0has broken ground at a site between Yas Mall and\u00a0SeaWorld. Like the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesphere.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Las Vegas<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0original, the venue will seat up to 20,000 when it opens in 2029. &#8220;Abu Dhabi is open, ambitious, and unwavering in its direction said Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of DCT Abu Dhabi&#8221; &#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#fcf100\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Inloco contracts<\/mark><\/strong> After three years,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/inlocogallery.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Inloco<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is shutting down its gallery and exhibition operations to become an art consultancy and public art agency. A statement: \u201cThe essence of urban art lies in its temporality. As a project inspired by street practices, we approach this interrupted temporality with humility and care \u2013 accepting that what once appeared in the street may no longer exist there today\u201d.
