Just about all the UAE locals are there (23 of them: we couldn\u2019t spot any major absentees) and despite the obvious issues with air travel and insurance for people and artworks there are a smattering of Europeans too (albeit mostly galleries that have a UAE outpost). No Indian galleries, though. Fair Director <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theartnewspaper.com\/2026\/04\/15\/art-dubai-announces-updated-gallery-list-for-embattled-postponed-edition\"><strong>Benedetta Ghione told The Art Newspaper<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0&#8220;there is a constituency of galleries for whom the fair didn\u2019t make sense, for a number of reasons \u2013 timing, logistics or the specific projects that they were planning to bring&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As promised, there will be extended non-commercial <strong>collaborations with local institutions<\/strong> \u2013 Sharjah Art Foundation, Barjeel Art Foundation, Art Jameel, Alserkal Avenue and more \u2013 plus a &#8220;major&#8221; presentation from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artdubai.ae\/dubai-collection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Dubai Collection<\/strong><\/a>: a programme of large-scale <strong>installations<\/strong>\u00a0and site-responsive artworks across the fair: and of course Art Dubai\u2019s flagship <strong>Global Art Forum<\/strong>, commissioned as ever by Shumon Basar. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artdubai.ae\/special-edition-programme\/\"><strong>Art Dubai Special Edition<\/strong><\/a> runs 15-17 May, at the Madinat Jumeriah as usual &#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#fcf100\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Alserkal\u00a0stretches the week<\/mark><\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/magpie.ae\/staging4\/alserkal-art-month\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Alserkal Art Month<\/strong><\/a> is a kind of stretched version of the Alserkal Art Weeks of old that runs 18 April to 19 May with a busy schedule \u2013 many of the galleries are <strong>opening new shows<\/strong> on 18 April, a curated group show\u00a0called <strong>D\u00e9j\u00e0 Vu<\/strong>\u00a0(with gallery contributions) opens in Concrete 25 April, and there\u2019s a mass of <strong>workshops<\/strong>, <strong>open studios<\/strong>, <strong>talks<\/strong> (including the excellent Majlis Talks), <strong>tours<\/strong> (love those Slow Art visits to the galleries), and much much more. The aforementioned collaboration with Art Dubai is a co-curated programme of <strong>moving image works<\/strong> to be screened at both venues\u00a0&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:#fcf100\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Don&#8217;t trust us<\/mark><\/strong> Microsoft\u2019s recently revised Terms of Use for <a href=\"https:\/\/copilot.microsoft.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Copilot<\/strong><\/a> include the line \u201cCopilot is for <strong>entertainment purposes only<\/strong>\u201d and \u201c<strong>don\u2019t rely on Copilot<\/strong> for important advice\u201d which might come as a bit of a surprise to the <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2026\/01\/29\/satya-nadella-insists-people-are-using-microsofts-copilot-ai-a-lot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>15m users who have it as part of Enterprise Microsoft 365 subscriptions<\/strong><\/a> &#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><mark style=\"background-color:#fcf100\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>Park &#8216;n&#8217; buy<\/strong><\/mark> Dubai drivers who use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.parkin.ae\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Parkin<\/strong><\/a> parking can redeem or offset their parking fees by shopping at a participating\u00a0business.
