It’s said to be a good one this time …\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n More art<\/mark><\/strong>\u00a0A new art gallery is always welcome, especially a trailblazer:\u00a0Iris Projects<\/strong><\/a>, better known to date as a curatorial agency with a number of projects under its belt, is opening its first permanent gallery, and it\u2019s in Abu Dhabi\u2019s MiZa cultural neighbourhood in Mina Zayed. Iris Projects opens 20 November with a solo show by Emirati artist Alyazia Al Nahyan (details\u00a0here<\/strong><\/a>: view by appointment only though). Iris, which also has a booth in Abu Dhabi Art, has a roster of half a dozen artists for follow-on shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Bee happy<\/mark><\/strong> The winner of the 12th\u00a0Christo and Jeanne-Claude Award<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0was unveiled at the opening of Abu Dhabi Art a couple of days ago. It\u2019s a bee hotel by Sara Farha and Khaled Shalkha from Datecrete Studio, constructed from their date pip based cement alternative Datecrete: \u201cbeautiful, useful, and important\u201d said the Award\u2019s director.\u00a0Here’s our take on it<\/strong><\/a>, and if you fancy your chances\u00a0here<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0are the application details for the next edition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Your MFA?<\/mark><\/strong>\u00a0Today NYUAD is promoting its MFA course with Open Studios in The Arts Center 3-7pm.
