Give for Lebanon<\/mark><\/strong> The UAE public raised AED 110 million in the first week of the aid-for-Lebanon campaign, says The National. You can still do your bit\u00a0via this link<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Urban gems<\/mark><\/strong> DCT Abu Dhabi is inviting nominations to its fourth annual Urban Treasures awards for businesses and other establishments that \u201cserve the emirate as historically significant cultural gems\u201d. The list of potential candidates includes (but is not limited to) caf\u00e9s, restaurants, bakeries, sweet shops, textile stores, tailors, perfumeries, jewellers, pharmacies, and photography studios. They have to have been operating in the emirate for at least 20 years. Anyone can nominate; the form is here<\/strong><\/a>, the deadline is 10 November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A free trip to Abu Dhabi<\/mark><\/strong> Do you know anyone outside the UAE who might fancy NYUAD\u2019s MFA in Art and Media? A “handful” of students are being offering a weekend at NYU Abu Dhabi to check it out \u2013 with flights, accommodation and meals all \u00a0covered. (Students currently in the UAE are excluded, though there might be something similar for them in the future.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n Christo open call<\/mark><\/strong> Applications are now open for The Christo and Jeanne-Claude Award 2025<\/strong><\/a> for the \u201cproposal and creation of an artwork that, in the spirit of Christo and Jeanne-Claude\u2019s work, can be publicly exhibited and enjoyed\u201d. Could be a work in any media suitable for external exhibition (the winner will be shown at Abu Dhabi Art, NYUAD and Um El Emarat Park in Nov\/Dec 2025) but it\u2019s usually won by sculpture or other 3D installations. Deadline is 31 January; individuals or teams (up to three) can apply, but you\u2019ll need a mentor.
