She bested two other finalists with her proposal in response to an open call; she\u2019ll be presenting UAE-based research on food, to be exhibited in Venice with an accompanying publication. Neat fact: Aboualam was a Venice Intern at the National Pavilion UAE\u2019s debut participation in the 14th Architecture Biennale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Job opp now<\/mark><\/strong> This looks a good one: NYUAD is looking for an Art Preparator, responsible for the preparation of museum exhibitions (primarily at the Art Gallery) and instructing students and student assistants in art handling, collections management, and formal exhibition presentation. There are three major exhibitions a year at the Art Gallery, plus 15-20 other exhibits in NYUAD and elsewhere inc the Christo Award. You\u2019ll need at least three years\u2019 relevant experience. There will also be onsite food stalls, music and entertainment \u201cfor all ages\u201d. \u00a0More info here<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Where the money is<\/mark><\/strong> Abu Dhabi has been pushing the slogan \u201ccapital of capital\u201d for a couple of years now; it looks like it\u2019s justified \u2013 Abu Dhabi has overtaken Oslo to become the world\u2019s richest city in terms of assets managed by sovereign wealth funds<\/strong><\/a>, managing $1.67 trillion in assets (of a total of $12.5 trillion in SWFs). Only a sixth of investments by Abu Dhabi SWFs have been domestic (one of them, ADQ, is currently investing about $1bn\u00a0in Sotheby\u2019s and expecting expansion in the Middle East).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Don’t call it gambling<\/mark><\/strong> Wynn Resorts has been granted a licence<\/strong><\/a> to operate a \u201cgaming facility\u201d in RAK.
