{"id":48477,"date":"2023-11-15T17:00:48","date_gmt":"2023-11-15T13:00:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/magpie.ae\/staging4\/?p=48477"},"modified":"2023-11-15T17:00:50","modified_gmt":"2023-11-15T13:00:50","slug":"litfest-promises-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/magpie.ae\/staging4\/litfest-promises-more\/","title":{"rendered":"LitFest promises more"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The 16<sup>th<\/sup> edition of the <a href=\"https:\/\/emirateslitfest.com\/\">Emirates Airline Festival of Literature<\/a> \u2013 which is now billing itself \u201cthe region\u2019s largest celebration of stories and ideas\u201d, presumably in a bid to escape the confines of the printed page \u2013 will be returning to the Intercontinental Dubai Festival City from 31 January to 6 February (which by our count is a day longer than the 2023 LitFest).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As well as the mix-as-before of authors and associated folk in solo and panel presentations, there\u2019s a group of new events which major on the younger audience. LitFest After Hours (\u201cthe fun doesn\u2019t stop once the sun goes down\u201d) runs Thursday to Sunday for \u201ca feast of performances, games, activities, and food\u201d. Discovery Talks are free-to-attend \u201cfun\u201d lectures on topics ranging from the Spiderverse to Chinese mythology and artificial intelligence. LitFest Families is a festival-within-the-festival for the young, featuring \u201csome of the finest children\u2019s storytellers and illustrators\u201d in \u201can action-packed weekend perfect for tiny bookworms\u201d.
