Mandé Maqamāt invites audiences into a world where the Gulf meets the vast musical landscapes of West Africa; the award-winning West African percussionist Yahael Camara Onono (founder and bandleader of the Balimaya Project) is joined by a collective of virtuosos from the region and its diaspora to transform The Black Box into a laboratory of spontaneous exploration with an evening of deep Mandé grooves, soaring Arabic maqamāt, and fearless improvisation.
