Theeb (‘Wolf’) is a young Bedouin boy living in a remote part of the Ottoman Empire in 1916. When his older brother has to escort a British officer across the desert, Theeb tags along for the adventure – and experiences a greatly hastened coming-of-age on the perilous journey.
The film screens in dialogue with the ongoing Abdullah Al Saadi exhibition Sites of Memory, Sites of Amnesia as part of a programme curated by researcher and scholar Rasha Salti that invites audiences to reflect on the intricate interplay between remembrance and forgetting, evoking profound connections to collective and personal histories.
