Sheikh Mahmoud El Tohamy: The Carpenter’s Daughters

A pioneer in reviving Islamic chanting heritage in modern arrangements and western harmony, El Tohamy is the son of the noted Sufi chanter Sheikh Yassin El-Tohamy. For this Abu Dhabi Festival concert he presents the world premiere of The Carpenter’s Daughters, a setting of a series of poems from across Egypt, the Levant and the Maghreb in praise of the Prophet Muhammad.
