DESCRIPTION:Ana Escobar Saavedra has a cross-disciplinary creative practice working on the frontiers of craft\, art and design. Born and bred in Colombia\, she is now established in the UAE; for the last few years\, she has combined a personal studio practice alongside other professional projects in a range of fields such as fashion\, art\, and trend forecasting\, among others. \nThis exhibition is based on her participation in the 2025 cycle of the 421 Artistic Development Program (ADP)\, an annual capacity-building initiative that provides early-career artists in the UAE with the opportunity to explore new techniques\, test ideas\, and create a cohesive body of work for their first solo exhibition. She is mentored by Jolaine Frizzell.

DESCRIPTION:For the fourth time\, this exhibition shows work by students completing the two-year Master of Fine Arts in Art and Media at NYUAD – Dima Abou Zannad\, Bao\, Adele Bea Cipste\, Hala El Abora\, Mowen Li (Amira)\, Jude Maharmeh\, Safeya Sharif\, and Danutė Vaitekūnaitė. Their themes: the origin stories of flora\, fauna\, and water as metaphors for environmental and economic cycles; memory and its role in shaping contemporary perceptions; and communion as a site of vulnerability and celebration\, reflecting on displacement\, community\, and belonging.

SUMMARY:Wassef Boutros-Ghali: A Retrospective (1965-2016)
DESCRIPTION:In the canvases of Wassef Boutros-Ghali\, colours informed by a knowledge of unrelenting Mediterranean sunlight flood the flat plane of the canvas; architectural forms emerge\, collide and re-engineer themselves without a narrative. Boutros-Ghali’s art speaks to the pure and unrestricted physicality of painting\, and his compositions reflect a meticulous yet openhearted response to the human condition – marvels of reason buoyed by a lifetime’s worth of lyricism. \nWassef Boutros-Ghali passed away in March 2023\, aged 98. He was painting right up until his death. \nTo 5 November. SUMMARY:Morteza Khosravi: The Floating Table
DESCRIPTION:Influenced by the likes of Lucian Freud and Egon Schiele\, Khosravi’s drawings and paintings suggest that he’s looking for artistic ideas – “for him\, how to encounter pieces is important than pieces itself”. But does have a characteristic style of painting groups of people that appear to be faded photographs; the viewer has the same sense of nostalgia and reminiscence of better times as they would if they were looking at old family photos.
