SUMMARY:Ahmad Nabil: Fetus Exodus
DESCRIPTION:A Jameel Library Commission by the Palestinian artist and educator that explores regional myths and legends through ten monthly texts – chapters in fact\, in digital form – that address an imagined foetus (referred to as a “child of myths”) as it prepares to be born. Through this imagined dialogue\, the foetus is introduced to mythological thought and encouraged to embrace a shared imaginarium. The chapters traverse the entire cycle from creation and birth to resurrection\, encouraging exploration of their commonalities while making space for differences. \nAfter its conclusion on 27 July you can still view the whole project here.

SUMMARY:Flow: dir Gints Zilbalodis (2024)
DESCRIPTION:An absolutely stunning low-budget (and largely handmade) antidote to Disneyification – a wordless animated fable about a cat reluctantly making friends with a dog\, a ring-tailed lemur\, a capybara and a secretary bird in a post-apocalyptic world. There’s a message\, but the visuals and the drama are what really grab the senses. It deservedly won an Oscar this year; do not on any account miss the chance to see this film. \nScreens as part of the Cultural Foundation’s European Film Festival Abu Dhabi 2025\, a week of films all priced at AED 25 (and the all-week pass at AED 150 looks a real bargain). All films that need them have subtitles in English. The films: \n23 June 7pm Flow Latvia \n24 June 6pm Mountain Boy UAE\n24 June 8pm Dangerous Gentlemen Poland \n25 June 4pm Bigman Netherlands\n25 June 6pm Carmen Malta\n25 June 8pm Two to One Germany \n26 June 4pm Living Large Czechia\n26 June 6pm Mond Austria\n26 June 8pm The Musicians France \n27 June 4pm Io Sto Bene Italy\n27 June 6pm The Trap Bulgaria\n27 June 8pm Remember to Blink Lithuania \n28 June 4pm Tarrac Ireland\n28 June 6pm Four Souls of Coyote Hungary\n28 June 8pm UFO Sweden Sweden \n29 June 2pm Ramona Spain\n29 June 4pm Horia Romania\n29 June 6pm Riders Slovenia \n  \n  \n
