DESCRIPTION:An exhibition created by the Bulgarian immersive-experience specialists Poliforma\, using surround-sound and surround-visuals to celebrate “stories of people who have overcome\, adapted\, or ignored their limitations” through “captivating video inserts\, stunning 3D projections\, and four interactive installations”. Apparently it’s “a revolutionary digital art exhibition fully adapted for people with disabilities that celebrates resilience\, creativity\, and the ability to shape the world\, no matter the obstacles”. \nIt runs to 23 December. You book a one-hour slot; first available is 10am (1pm on Saturdays)\, last is 8pm (4pm Monday to Wednesday).

This is the Teatro Real de Madrid production that has been wowing audiences for some time; it aims to deliver a taste of genuine flamenco with Manu Montes (dance)\, Manuel Peralta (vocals) and accompanists Julián Bedmar (second guitar)\, José Manuel Posada (bass) and Miguel Ortiz (percussion).

SUMMARY:Three Tired Tigers
DESCRIPTION:Bringing together more than 40 artists and collectives\, drawing from politics\, history\, economics and urbanism\, this exhibition takes a playful yet serious approach to how animals navigate and thrive within the gaps of urban environments. What happens when animals escape their enclosures or conflict with humans\, shifting from admired symbol to nuisance\, from pet to pest? Visitors are challenged to rethink coexistence\, ecology and the importance of recognising animals as part of our everyday geographies. \nFeaturing works by artists engaging with urban animals across different regions – from Dubai’s many street cats to stories of displaced dogs\, disappearing lions and bears living atop mountains – the exhibition invites us to view our cities and landscapes from a (mostly) four-legged perspective. SUMMARY:Lamya Gargash: Kun
DESCRIPTION:Through her work\, Gargash delves into spirituality\, transformation\, and the human journey. Her first solo exhibition with the Maraya Art Centre has a title – kun means ‘to be’ – that reflects the exploration of a liminal state between different phases of being\, where transitions occur from one state of mind to another; Gargash aims to create an intervention that evokes a sense of journey\, path\, and guidance and fosters a deep understanding of connectivity. This intervention will be a long gold fabric integrated into the various spaces curated by the compass and its direction; the gold fabric will drape and cover any element crossing its path\, concealing them. \nKun is curated by Cima Azzam. \nTo 10 January.

DESCRIPTION:This acclaimed interactive experience for the young has been a major success for Sydney Opera House; it’s a 40-minute show aimed at children aged 2 to 10 (and their families) which blends live music\, storytelling\, and song to introduce young audiences to the world of classical music “in a fun\, participatory\, and inclusive environment”; Mozart\, his wife and a string quartet help the audience explore the instruments\, scores\, and themes that characterise his best known compositions. \nThe show has curriculum connections to Performing Arts\, Fine Arts\, Social Studies – History & Culture and is reportedly great for Emotional Development. A free teacher’s resource pack provides classroom exercises and curriculum links. \nThere are performances at 11am\, 2pm and 5pm on Saturday and Sunday (2-3 November) and 9am and 11am on monday and tuesday (4-5 November); it moves on to Cultural Foundation Abu Dhabi for performances on 7-9 November.

SUMMARY:Reminiscencia
DESCRIPTION:Confined to his home during the Covid lockdown of 2020\, artist Malicho Vaca Valenzuela sat down in front of his computer and began collecting memories from the residents of Santiago. His goal was to tell the story of his neighbourhood\, a vibrant area in the heart of the Chilean capital; his social media request for testimonies and personal memories about public spaces received numerous responses\, and at the same time his grandparents started to share their own memories with him\, their stories intertwining with the others. In this country “where there are immense blue skies in which one can read but where one doesn’t know what is hidden in the ground\,” the director digs into the earth: a simple click on a digital map and he uncovers mysterious loves and repressed revolutions\, so many fragments of an intimate and collective memory. Audience members are invited to quit chasing time and listen to the voices within them\, to cling to what may still remain of a memory. \nReminiscencia is part of Sharjah Art Foundation’s Perform Sharjah programme. There is a second performance on 3 November.
