DESCRIPTION:Firetti’s original Breaking Boundaries exhibition featured the works of Nasser Al Salem and Josh Rowell; this successor\, curated by Celine Azem as part of the Dubai Calligraphy Biennale\, has work by six artists from different parts of the world. It celebrates the history and evolution of language\, and its dynamic impact on contemporary artistic visions. DESCRIPTION:The Saudi Film Commission’s new industry event is a four-day conference and exhibition that aims to “lay the foundations for the Kingdom’s future film industry ventures … underpinned the growing economic role of the film industry in Saudi Arabia”.\nWe’re promised 40\,000m2 of exhibition space with 100+ exhibitors in the four-day expo. Visitors will get to see “cutting-edge technologies\, platforms\, and approaches related to production\, post-production\, distribution\, and other opportunities that drive growth in the film industry”. Alongside is a conference – running over the first two days – that will have 50 keynote speakers; and the three-day workshop programme promises “practical training sessions led by specialists in the film industry’s value chain”.\nEntrance to the exhibition is free; we’re not sure about the conference and workshops.
