Blind Symphony

A concert with a difference – venue is absolutely dark, and each audience member dons a light-blocking mask. The idea of course is that without visual perception your full attention is on the sound: “the most subtle musical nuances, delicate vibrations, and inner rhythms become clearer and more intense,” as the blurb puts it. “Even familiar compositions reveal themselves in a new, deeper, and more powerful way under these conditions.”

The programme features works by JS Bach, Arvo Pärt, Philip Glass, Max Richter, and Ludovico Einaudi. It’s performed by a chamber ensemble (we don’t know exactly who) “enriched with rare instruments collected from different cultures around the world”.
