Hotel Salvation: dir Shubhashish Bhutiani (2016)

A warm tale of life and relationships, embedded in Indian culture and Hindu rituals. Daya decides he wants to die in the Hindu holy city of Varanasi. Rajiv, his over-worked accountant son, struggles with anxieties about his responsibilities back home but accompanies him to the eponymous Hotel Salvation – where Daya rediscovers a liking for life. It’s a tender, gentle film about relationships and ageing; very highly recommended.
