Having left home and somewhat adrift, Cassandre embarks on a career with a minor airline company and encounters life on life’s terms – discovering that in the modern world, people don’t give a damn (actually the original is considerably more direct about what’s not given, but magpie is cognisant of delicate sensibilities). Based in Lanzarote, she’s always willing to take on extra hours and carries out her duties with robotic efficiency; on the side, she just floats between Tinder, parties and lazy days. When she suddenly gets sacked, she is forced to return home. Will she find the force to confront what she was running away from?
