Peter Dean Rickards: The Afflicted Yard
Photography by the Jamaican artist, a self-taught photographer, videographer and publisher who began his career at a volatile time in Jamaican history as the country suffered from severe national debt and high murder rates. Rickards focused on portraying the underdog, proving a fresh and an unbiased glimpse into hitherto undocumented aspects of Jamaican life. Rickards, who died in 2014, is still considered a symbol of defiance and cultural pride.
To 6 February.
