NFT | IRL
A first for the region, we think: a group exhibition where NFT artworks and their physical counterparts will be exhibited side by side – digital NFTs displayed on screens next to the physical works. There will also be VR and augmented reality platforms in the exhibition.
The actual location is Firetti Contemporary gallery in Alserkal Avenue; the show runs in partnership with MORROW collective, described as “the leading NFT partner for galleries and … NFT curators”. The NFT selection will be hosted on the Cryptovoxels VR platform within MORROW’s virtual gallery.
According to Firetti, NFT | IRL aims to make NFTs more accessible. Says Mara Firetti, Founder and CEO of Firetti Contemporary: “The emphasis of this exhibition is to shine a light on the technological developments within our field, whilst at the same time hosting a high quality, curated and impactful exhibition. NFTs are already changing the way that art is bought and sold and, as we move towards the future, where this will be increasingly mainstream, it is important to embrace these changes.”
We don’t have a full list of participating artists but they include Ahmed Emad, Kadara Enyeasi, Irvin Pascal, Josh Rowell, Helidon Xhixha and Fatiha Zemmouri.
To 15 September.
