Little Shop of Horrors

The second performance of four for Abu Dhabi Choral Group’s production of the award-winning cult musical based on the 1960 film by Roger Corman, with book and lyrics by Howard Ashman and music by Alan Menken. It blends doo-wop, rock, and Motown in a charming but totally twisted comedy that follows the story of meek garden store employee Seymour, his co-worker crush Audrey, her sadistic dentist of a boyfriend, and an alien plant with a gruesome appetite that threatens them and the entire world as we know it. Naturally it gets a generously-sized stage (the Arts Center’s Red Theater) with live music.
