Goya: dir Konrad Wolf (1971)
26 November @ 7.30 pm - 27 November @ 9.00 pmFree
One from the former East Germany; Goya has attained wealth and reputation as a painter in the court of King Carlos IV. He believes in King and Church, yet he is also a Spaniard who dearly loves his people. This contradiction presents him with a dilemma, and the awakening of social conscience means Wolf’s influence can be seen in the works of Luis Buñuel, Carlos Saura, and Sergei Eisenstein. Shown in collaboration with Goethe-Institut, in German with English subtitles.
