We don’t know who exactly will be playing, but we’re promised five leading members of the Berlin Philharmonic in what we’re told is their premiere performance. Most quintets have two violins, viola and cello augmented by either a second viola or a second cello, but this one seems to include a piano if the PR pic is any guide …The programme will offer “a fine panorama of Chamber music from the 18th century to the early 20th” including Schubert’s String Quintet in C major. SOLD OUT (hardly surprising given the excellent prices) but there may be returns.
