The second in this occasional series of online discussions about being an artist in the Emirates, presented in partnership with NYUAD Art Gallery and NYUAD Career Development Center, features four young artists:
Rami Abuammuna Dubai-based Palestinian spoken word poet and writer who has been honing his skills in handpan music. He’s appearing at the 50th Anniversary Jubilee edition of Hekayah | The Story.
Shaikha Al Mazrou Visual artist whose works resonate richly with the history of sculpture, abstraction and contemporary art, yet transcend genre. Currently she’s as an Assistant Professor at NYUAD.
Faraha Chamma Poet and performer, known for her multilingual spoken-word performances that including acting and live music. She too will be taking part in Hekayah | The Story.
lama Singer/songwriter who takes on issues like the place of women and other minority groups in society. Her songs she regards as just one execution of a bigger and deeper topic, living alongside different forms of artistic expression.
