Anna Chekh’s Dubai debut offers a mix of sculptures and acrylics on canvas. Her vibrant colours belie the war being waged in Chekh’s home country, Ukraine; threaded throughout the collection there’s a shadow man – “a faceless person whose desire is to experience everything by being in the thick of it whilst remaining the shadows. He is easy to find yet hard to recognise …” Chekh calls herself an art philosopher and a performer who features social topics in her works, gently interlaced with satire.
During the opening, guests will have the opportunity to create a digital piece of art using elements of Anna’s work that they can turn into an NFT. The exhibition is organised by Dubai-based boutique art consultancy Skaya Art Agency.
To 1 November.
