The train is heading to Auschwitz\, and she was thrown to some kind of safety by her father … The film is adapted from a 2019 novel by French author and playwright Jean-Claude Grumberg\, about which one reviewer said: “It is difficult … to write a work of fiction about the Holocaust that is original; even simply in this sense\, Grumberg’s work succeeds where many have failed”. DESCRIPTION:Talal Al Najjar’s works feel very contemporary\, not just in his use of materials and technologuy but also in his concerns and ambitions. DESCRIPTION:Back for a new season\, it’s one of the most consistently funny of the Courtyard’s classic improv gigs: the speakers have to give a presentation on a slide deck they’ve never seen before\, with the topic determined at random by the Wheel of Destiny. Each presentation will be rated by a panel of judges and the winner applauded as the PowerPointless champion. Afterwards there’s a chance to mingle with the presenters and the Courtyard’s Corporate Team for an iftar (and a chance to find out more about the Courtyard’s Corporate Academy). \nIt’s free\, but you need to put your name on the guestlist via the website. It’s first-come first-served\, so get there early to grab a seat. \n
