SUMMARY:Karama Arts Club: Summer Social / How to thrive as a DJ
DESCRIPTION:The intelligent networking session for creative peers is back after a lengthy hiatus (“we have been busy with the ongoing application to become an official non-profit social club … We are thrilled to finally be making progress\, and we hope to get the good news over the summer. Once approved\, we will be the first of its kind in Dubai”). \nKAC has booked two rooms in Casa Latina\, one for the bar (“a chance to mix\, mingle and catch up with Dubai’s creative crème de la crème to a backdrop of quality tunes from our member DJs”) and one for the panel session. The topic this time is making it as a DJ; we’re promised that seasoned pros will share their secrets on how to get started and then how to thrive as a full-timer on the wheels of steel / Ableton. \nThe (semi) formal bit of the evening includes the introduction of new board members and advance info on next season. The panel session starts around 7.30\, with the private bar and ‘members social’ from 6.30 (the DJ panel will be in the next room\, so you can choose to do either or both). At 10pm\, the Bassmati party takes over with free entry for Karama Arts Club guests. \nAccess to the Club’s evenings is free\, but you have to be a member … and membership is free\, too\, but you have to be nominated by an existing club member since this “ensures the sound\, organic growth of a trusted community”. \n  \n
