DESCRIPTION:Belgian filmmaker Guillaume Senez has always been fascinated with personal responsibility and family dynamics. His latest film\, which premiered at last autumn’s Toronto Film Festival\, fits the mould; it tells the story of a father’s struggle to reconnect with his estranged daughter in a place that doesn’t take too kindly to foreigners like him. Working as a driver for a private car service in Tokyo\, French expat Jay has never been able to get custody of his daughter Lily; for nine years he has used his occupation to travel the length and breadth of Tokyo in his cab\, looking for his daughter … Just when he decides to give up and move back to France\, a chance encounter opens up the possibility that he might actually find with his daughter. \nThis screening\, which is in French with English subtitles\, is part of SUAD’s Francofilm Festival– a series of five films showing on consecutive nights between 19 and 23 April\, celebrating the French language and the diversity of Francophone cinema.
