SUMMARY:The Two Walks: Works on Paper selected by Judy Karkour
DESCRIPTION:A group show of new and archival works on paper selected by Judy Karkour that brings together 14 artists with distinct material and artistic backgrounds – Sarah Almehairi\, Faris Alshafar\, Olaf Breuning\, Bernhard Buhmann\, André Butzer\, Nadine Ghandour\, Monika Grabuschnigg\, Amir Khojasteh\, Nour Malas\, Solimar Miller\, Philip Mueller\, Mayar Obedo\, Edgar Orlaineta\, Amba Sayal-Bennett. \nThe title refers to “the corridor that souls use to travel between worlds\, to the thousand lives that live within one\, and to those who resist conformity” and the exhibition explores paper as a medium that challenges scale as grandiose; there is something uniquely revealing about working with paper\, and each of the artists uses and manipulates it in different ways that expand beyond its traditional associations – to express hidden existential thoroughfare\, complex intentions\, and explore innovative techniques. \nTo 5 September. \nAbove: Solimar Miller\, Quiet Watcher (2026)

SUMMARY:Mohammed Kazem: Scenes from the 90s – Oscillating between Observation and Abstraction
DESCRIPTION:A rare selection of early works on paper by Mohammed Kazem. The 1990s was a period that shaped the foundations of his artistic practice; created during years of experimentation under the mentorship of Hassan Sharif\, these works reveal Kazem’s early interest in observation\, repetition\, and the hidden possibilities of ordinary materials. \nAbove: Mohammed Kazem\, Landscape 1 (1999)

SUMMARY:Alia Zaal: In Plain Sight
DESCRIPTION:Alia Zaal’s first exhibition with the gallery features new paintings – on canvas\, paper\, and ceramic tiles – depicting intimate fragments of landscapes loved by the artist. Highlighting details of familiar plants\, trees\, and flora from the scrublands and forest of Al Khawaneej in Dubai and the mangroves and mudflats of Abu Dhabi’s coastline\, the works present a mediation on site-specificity and lived experiences rather than romantic scenes of territory; Zaal’s paintings escape traditional landscape portraiture\, usually marked by elements such as a sweeping horizon line\, a majestic sky or a tree or shrub rendered in its entirety.
