SUMMARY:A Journey into Architecture Archives: Tunis\, Baghdad\, Damascus
DESCRIPTION:As part of its ongoing institutional programming\, Sharjah Architecture Triennial presents what it terms a “new chapter” in a long-term research initiative dedicated to architectural archives in the Arab world. Building on the inaugural 2023 exhibition\, which focused on Beirut\, Cairo and Rabat\, Journeys into Architecture Archives was developed to foster knowledge production about the region from within its own communities\, while contributing to the development of a shared archival database. The project\, again curated by Lebanese architect George Arbid\, brings together rare archival materials\, physical models and newly commissioned documentary films to explore histories\, memories and unrealised futures across three pivotal Arab cities. \nTo 12 July.

DESCRIPTION:A series of guided tours with curator George Arbid that offer his perspective on the Journey into Architecture Archives: Baghdad\, Damascus\, Tunis exhibition currently running at Al Qasimiyah School (to 12 July). Arbid will provide insight into the research\, archival discoveries\, and curatorial approach that shape this latest chapter of Sharjah Architecture Triennial’s long-term initiative on architectural archives in the Arab world. \nThese tours are free but spaces are limited and prebooking is required. Tours run at 11am and 5pm daily from 6 tom9 June; they will last about an hour.
