SUMMARY:Ahmad Nabil: Fetus Exodus
DESCRIPTION:A Jameel Library Commission by the Palestinian artist and educator that explores regional myths and legends through ten monthly texts – chapters in fact\, in digital form – that address an imagined foetus (referred to as a “child of myths”) as it prepares to be born. Through this imagined dialogue\, the foetus is introduced to mythological thought and encouraged to embrace a shared imaginarium. The chapters traverse the entire cycle from creation and birth to resurrection\, encouraging exploration of their commonalities while making space for differences. \nAfter its conclusion on 27 July you can still view the whole project here.

SUMMARY:LAST CHANCE Eltiqa: How to Work Together?
DESCRIPTION:More 80 artworks by the Palestinian artist collective Eltiqa\, \nEltiqa (Arabic for “encounter”) is an artist collective from Gaza City founded in 2000. Eltiqa members have developed artistic practices together – including the setting up of a dedicated exhibition and workshop space in Gaza City\, and supporting younger generations of artists through workshops\, exhibitions and by offering a space to meet and dialogue. \nEltiqa: How to Work Together? includes a selection of Eltiqa’s artworks spanning several years of collaboration. The works on display were collected from various locations worldwide; some artworks produced and exhibited years ago remained with institutions and individuals because of the difficulty of returning them to Gaza\, other works were transported out of Gaza during the ongoing genocide. \nIncluded in the exhibition is an annotated timeline that traces the history of Eltiqa – the collective’s formation and early days\, their efforts at creating structures of support for themselves and others\, and the historical\, political and personal events that have marked their lives as a collective and as individuals. Through anecdotes recounted by members of Eltiqa and research conducted by The Question of Funding collective\, the displayed narratives accentuate Eltiqa’s practice and survival amid political\, social\, economic and personal distress.

SUMMARY:Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial: Bik Van der Pol’s The poem that jumps the fence
DESCRIPTION:Artist duo Bik Van der Pol (Liesbeth Bik and Jos Van der Pol) engage in collaborative projects on how art constructs public spaces for speculative thought and collective creativity. The poem that jumps the fence features weekly performances on Abu Dhabi Beach and workshops connecting words and sand as real and symbolic material that binds our world; every Sunday afternoon\, a performer writes a poem in the sand\, only for it to fade away. During workshops in collaboration with local poets and writers\, participants generate text for the performances. \n  \n
