The previews look great\, and the watery additions do add to the circus skills on show. Thierry Antonios\, founder and Managing Partner at Cirque Du Liban\, described Fontana as “a perfect blend of creativity and strategic partnership\, enhancing the vibrant cultural tapestry of Abu Dhabi … we are excited to share this extraordinary experience with the audiences of Yas Island”. \nIt all happens in a purpose-built big top circus tent near twofour54. There are shows from 7 April to 26 May.

DESCRIPTION:A new body of work in this solo exhibition from Syrian artist Orman Younis offers “a poignant social commentary on his surroundings\, the human condition\, and current state of political affairs in the region” that “combines ideas of post-Modernism with expressionist techniques to develop a painterly language which can be universally understood”. The cactus is provided as a symbol of resilience – and of patience\, since the word for cactus and patience is the same in Arabic – as a symbolic commentary on the war in his home country. DESCRIPTION:A second day of performances (4pm\, 7.30pm\, 9.30pm) for this world premiere of a new play written and directed by the award-winning Australian writer/director Alex Broun\, well known to Dubai audiences for the past 15 or so years (not least from his promotion of and participation in the Short + Sweet playlet festivals). Torn is described as “a sexy\, fast-paced\, brutal\, funny and at times moving dissection of post-millennium relationships … with echoes of Patrick Marber’s Closer“; lawyer Susan (Nadine Basiony) is in a relationship with advertising executive Cade (Osman Aboubakr)\, and voiceover artist Gerry (Elie Choufani) is in love with Susan’s PA Daniella (Lis Panilla). “Torn is about the impossibility and possibility of love in a modern world where choices abound and nothing is forever …” Should be a good show. \nThe final performances are on 21 April (7.30pm and 9.30pm).
