So exactly what goes into designing and installing an exhibition? Visitors to Test Bed ’71 at Sharjah’s 1971 Design Space (sessions between 3 and 5 Oct) can find out.
A series of guided tours of past 1971 Design Space shows will provide a practical insight into the process of building and curating an exhibition. As the press release puts it, “the installation process, often private and precedent to exhibition openings, is converted to a public event through this interactive experience, with the aim of engaging and educating audiences about the process of building and curating an exhibition”.
“It’s a behind-the-scenes snapshot that’s the first of its kind in the region and participants will come away with a significant amount of insight into how to conceptualize and deliver a compelling arrangement of art or design” said Giuseppe Moscatello, Director of Maraya Art Centre and 1971 Design Space.Mouza Al Matrooshi,
